FaMiLy TiMe!

Ryan turned 27 this past Friday!  AND I will never be able to make fun of how old he is because I will always be older than him! He is very grateful for this fact because he knows I would hold it over his head every year if he was older than me,  now Ryan on the other hand is a much better and nicer person than I am and has yet to do that with me.  Ask me again when I turn 35 or 40 and let's see if he is still nice..

I had a few different plans for Ryan's birthday but it ended up being too hot so we decided to check out a restaurant that was recommended to us called DW Bistro off of Russell and Fort Apache (the turkey burger...aaaahhhhmazing)  and then hit up the movie theater out at Town Square and saw the movie Super 8 which I enjoyed alot more than I thought I was going to.  We kept it low key and ended up having a great night.  Ryan got clothes and shoes for his birthday and couldn't have been happier...he loves clothes as much as I do.  I see years and years ahead of hurting the pocketbook in buying clothes.

All of Ryan's siblings are in town this week for a mini family reunion and we were able to host a little swimming and BBQ birthday party for Ryan on Saturday.  It was alot of fun, all the nephews and nieces swam until we had to drag them out of the pool.  We had some cake and ice cream and the kids all helped Uncle Ryan blow out the candles.

Saturday night, after everyone had went home and napped, we all hit up the annual North Stake Pioneer Day's celebration,  they go all out with food and games and a pretty good firework show.     The boys were able to play some games and shove there faces full of sugar once again.  It was a really fun night.

My parents also came back from Salt Lake this weekend,  and while they were not up for coming out to the Pioneer Day celebration (they are still getting used to the temp change from the 80's to the high 100's) they did come over on Sunday night for dinner,   along with my baby brother and my friend Melanie.  I made the Pioneer Woman's homemade meatloaf and it turned out pretty good.

We are excited Ryan's Aunt Shari is coming to stay with us for a few days,  we plan to go out to dinner with her tomorrow night and then Friday we have a adults only dinner and Saturday another swimming and BBQ day.  Should make for a great weekend.

P.S. Costco's chocolate cake is not only delicious but worth every penny of the $17.99 you pay for it.  It is so big it lasted not only for the BBQ on Saturday,  dessert with my family on Sunday,  dessert for Ryan and I on Monday and I gave the rest to our friends the Edgel's today to get it out of the house!

Catching UP!

Man it's been forever since I have blogged.  Life just get's in the way.

I was able to go to Salt Lake and visit my parents for 4 days after the 4th.   My dad was a stellar patient and was able to get out of the hospital a little earlier than his last transplant so we didn't have to go to the hospital at all.   It was such a great visit,  we met up with my cousin Kim for lunch,  saw a movie,  took a drive and checked out some of the new temples.  Really chill,  it was awesome.  I slept in till 10-11am every morning.   I also was able to see my cousin's The Pronks,  I can't believe how big their kids are getting.   I lived with them before my senior year of highschool for a summer and babysat C.J. and Josie and now they are 15 and 16,  it's crazy!!  I am glad I was able to go visit them and am even more excited that they will be back in Vegas by the end of this weekend!

Some of Ryan's family was in town this weekend so we were excited to be able to have a BBQ at the house and let the kids go swimming.  Ryan's grandma and Aunt Jani were able to come to our house for the first time so that was awesome.   We are also excited because all of Ryan's siblings are coming to Vegas next week and will be here for a week or two.  This will be the first time they are all here since our wedding almost a year ago and I will actually be able to spend lots of time with them time.  Last year I was a little busy with pre-wedding stuff and having my own family in town.   We are really excited to spend time with all the kids,  we will be swimming alot the next couple of weeks.

It's also going to be great because most of Ryan's family will be here this weekend for Ryan's birthday!  I am excited for my babe's birthday I am trying to think of something fun to surprise him with on Friday night!  So TBD what we end up doing!

Other than that we haven't been doing much,  Ryan is almost done with summer school and then he has 2 weeks off and we are heading down to Laguna Beach to celebrate our ONE year anniversary.  That's right we have almost been married ONE year! It has gone by so fast and I am excited for many many more.

Hope everyone is staying cool this summer!

Until next time...
